About Me
Hello students and parents. I am Victoria Kessler, and I will be teaching math for grades 5 through 8 this year. I am delighted to be your math teacher because I love math. I grew up in Park Ridge, and my parents were both teachers for Park Ridge Schools. I went to Maine East, then on to SIU-Carbondale, DePaul, and NEIU. I have credentials in English, Literacy, Gifted, and Math. As a veteran teacher, I have taught high school English, elementary Special Education, and middle school Gifted, ELA, and Math. I love teaching, as you can see.
With a cross-content background, I hope to widen the math curriculum so that it relates to real-world applications and problem solving. I will be assigning monthly projects as we explore how math affects all careers and pursuits of knowledge.
I am a collector of china, crystal, cookbooks, and Vera Bradley bags. I love antiques, and shopping is a passion. I love little white dogs, and we currently have a mixed breed named Lilly. She was supposed to be mine, but she prefers my husband! I love Pomeranians, but we rescued Lilly, so there it is. In my spare time, I go to yoga classes. It's still hard, but I try. I love classical music and Latin music. I lived near Tokyo, Japan, for four years.
My son Daniel and husband Joel are lawyers, and my daughter-in-law, Ryder, is a doctor at Rush. I have been through the process of high school and college applications, so I know how important it is to lay foundations for future success. With your cooperation and help, we can work together to make sure every student at St. Constance is capable, competent, and confident. You can contact me at [email protected]
